Thrillseekers can enjoy a visit to Alton Towers, the UKs number one theme park.

Manifold Valley, hire bikes in the village of Waterhouses or if you have brought your own cycle down to the village and experience the beautiful Manifold Valley. Click here for more details.

There are a great selection of walks from Limestone View Farm, you don't even need to take the car! We are lucky enough to be tucked under Ipstones Edge manged by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Their conservation projects include grazing Shetland ponies- definitely worth a walk to see, see their website for further details.

How about a Llama Trek through the beautiful Staffordshire countryside? Try based just a few miles away in Alton.

Visit Dimmingsdale, and down the road an extraordinary pub the Yew Tree Inn A Quirky Village Inn.

Just 5 minutes down the road from Limestone View Farm Cottage is the popular Peak Wildlife Park. The large walk-throughs allow visitors to come face to face with exotic and endangered animals from across three continents including lemurs, penguins and wallabies. A popular day out for couples and families alike

The site has regular talks hosted by the keepers and indoor and outdoor play areas. Open daily 10 to 5pm

THINGS TO DO - A little further afield:

On a wet day why not head underground to one of the areas many caves and caverns.........try Pooles Cavern, the world famous Blue John Cavern or Speedwell Cavern with an undergorund boat trip.

Visit the home of Emma Bridgewater pottery in Stoke on Trent, perhaps Wedgwoodor even Denby.

Watersports at Carsington Water.

A fantastic collection of National Trust properties are on your doorstep including Sudbury Museum of ChildhoodIlam Park and Kedleston Hall or see their Peak Disitrict website for more details.

The award winning Trentham Estate has something for everyone from shopping, beautiful gardens, boat rides and a Monkey Forest.

Guardian Recommended Walk in the Manifold Valley.

Why not visit the beautiful Yeaveley Estate to try your hand at clay pigeon shooting, archery and fly fishing?

Take a ride on the Churnet Valley Railway through the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. After reopening a line up to Cauldon Lowe in 2010, on some occasions you can see and hear the wonderful steam engines coming up the valley. Visit the Totally Locally Leek Market which takes place on the first Sunday of every month with an artisan market with lovely local food, jewellery, ceramics, photography, arts, homeware and more with lots of Leek’s lovely independent shops and cafes open – all making for a relaxed Sunday shopping.
